5 Reasons Why I Didn't Write a
"Real" Newsletter This Week
work-life specialist, some of the most gratifying feedback I receive is from
people who tell me that they appreciate not just the practical advice, but the
fact that I "practice what I preach." Well, I do this on most days
anyway. Just don't drop by unannounced at 5pm on a weekday.... sometimes it's not
pretty around here.
So, in an
effort to maintain my credibility, there is no official newsletter this
week. Below are the five reasons why:
I returned yesterday from a two week vacation with my family
during which I enjoyed a wonderful visit with my parents and in-laws and didn't
do a stitch of work with the exception of sending a few quick emails.
- I am easing back into life with a
day that is basically unscheduled in order to have time to return phone calls
and catch up on email.
an 8 hour drive yesterday, I don't have the energy to write a newsletter.
Frankly, I also don't have the energy to go to the grocery store or cook which is why my family will be eating Cheerios for dinner.
- Besides catching up on work, my
priorities today are relaxing with the kids, playing a game of Wii Tennis with my
daughter, and weaning the kids from the all-sugar diet they enjoyed at
their grandparents' homes.
- It's hard to imagine that I could write a newsletter of much value
today. Although, now that I think about it, maybe there's a lot of value
in knowing that making the choice to unwind is sometimes the best choice of
